Philadelphia –Drexel women's tennis lost 6-1 in a Colonial Athletic Association match held at the Vidas Athletic Complex. The loss dropped the Dragons' record to 2-6 for the 2006-07 season.
Gabriela Marginean (Cluj-Napoca, Romania/Mt. de Chantal Academy) teamed with Emily Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Towson won the other two doubles matches, however, to earn the point. In singles play, Marginean was again victorious as she defeated Towson's No. 1 singles player, Eva Otanke, 7-6 (5), 6-4 for the Dragons' lone singles win. Twins Emily and Mellissa Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) each won their opening set, 6-3, at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, but would go on to lose in three sets.
Drexel returns to the court on Wednesday, April 4 for a non-conference match against Rider at the Vidas Athletic Complex. The first match will begin at 2:00 p.m.
